Welcome to Chinchilla Planet. As fellow pet owners we know that it can be tough to find information about chinchillas since they're not as popular as more traditional pets such as dogs, cats, and birds. That's why we created this site. We hope we've covered 90% of the information you need to raise your chinchilla so that it lives for a very long time.
Just so you understand our perspective, we're not chinchilla breeders nor do we participate in shows. Our chinchillas are our pets. Nothing more. But over the years we think we've learned a lot about their proper care and upkeep. This site lets us share that information with you.
Please feel free to comment on any of the posts on this site. We welcome all comments and we'll do our best to answer any questions you pose. When we don't know the answer to something, we'll let you know. It's not our desire to trick you or to impress you. We just hope we can help.

I would like to be considered as an addition to your breeders list, I would also like to suggest a breeding and sexing section. I know that it's a pet site and many pet sites don't want to promote breeding, but it does happen. A sexing area (I didn't see one, but there maybe one already ? ) would help prevent unwanted matings. Please let me know if you need any pictures for sexing, I believe I have some, or could get some for you. You've put a lot of work into this site!

We have thought about adding a breeding section to this site, but we have no knowledge in the area. As such, we've stayed away from doing so.
A sexing section is a great idea. More than other areas, photos would be of great value, but we don't have any. We'd be happy to have you help with this.
Finally, we've added you to the breeders list.
